Drum Lessons

BMA’s drum lessons are based in Broughton (Preston) and Penwortham (Liverpool Rd). All drum lessons take place on our Roland TD4 or TD6 drum kits which are integrated into a sound system to play with backing tracks. We use the Rockschool syllabus for exams with pupils able to take their exams via centre appointments and video submission. BMA drum students ca play for fun or work towards the exams. We also have a 100% pass rate! This is because our tutors will only enter our students when they are fully prepared for the exam.  Our drum lessons can be booked in 30minute or 60min lessons.

Our resident Drum tutors include Jim Askam (Rockschool Examiner), Rick Kershaw, George Whittingham, Connor Adams and Nigel Stewart. Our drum tutors provide lessons between the two Preston based academies in  Broughton and Penwortham, so you can be assured we’ll fit your style of drumming to the correct tutor. Over 70 drum pupils at the academy come from all over the Preston, Lancaster, Garstang and Leyland areas.

Our drum tutors also encourage students of the academy to perform in rock bands for events around the Preston and Lancashire areas, giving the pupils opportunities to play as a band.

Drum Pupils also have the opportunity to Perform in our Shows which take place twice a year at the Preston Playhouse Theatre as well as other local events.

Our Drum lessons take place on a Monday to Fridays evening (4pm-9pm) at our Broughton and Penwortham (Preston) academies.
